Vision in children

Vision in children _

If you see that the child has certain behaviors or handles when they have to distinguish something from a distance or from a fence, it may be a problem of visual acuity. Being attentive to these signals is essential for both parents and educators. In the learning phase, and especially when children start reading and writing, their progress can be greatly penalized by vision problems.

Some of these habits can indicate that your child does not see correctly:

  • It sticks a lot to the text. When the child has difficulty seeing closely, the book or paper is usually too close to read and distinguish between writing.
  • Adopt strange positions with the head in a maintained manner. These are posture habits that are carried out unconsciously to try to focus images better.
  • It does not have a good criterion when choosing colours. If we see that when we paint or color their colour combinations are not correct, we may be facing a problem of dylon.
  • Stop paying attention. Visual difficulties can cause the child to lose interest in reading, games or explanations because they are tired.
  • It sticks a lot to the computer screen. It can be due to visual problems at medium or short distance
  • Acquire positions that are wrong when writing. These poor posture habits can indicate a lack of visual acuity and are adopted in a normal and unconscious manner to try to focus and see better.
